Managing Contests

Club administrators can create and edit contests. Reporting for a contest shows you aggregate ratings and statistics from all the tastings in the contest.

Adding a Contest

  1. Click Contests and Scoring from the top menu
  2. Click Add Contest

On this page, you can update the following settings for your contest and click Create Contest to save your changes. Click on the fields below for more detail.

  • Contest Name

    This is the name of your contest

  • Start Date

    This is the date your contest will begin.

  • End Date

    This is the date your contest will end.

  • Contest Administrator

    This is the member that can manage the contest settings and any tastings created under the contest.

  • Entry Fee

    (Optional) The price of participating in the contest. A member's payments can be tracked on the Members page.

  • Allow Repeat Beers

    When checked, members can register the same beer multiple times during this contest. If not checked, each registered beer must be unique.

  • Allow Members to Register Beers

    When checked, members can register their own beer. When not checked, only club and contest administrators can register beers.

  • Send Tasting Reminder Emails

    When checked, an email will be sent to members prior to the tasting to remind them of the start date and time.

  • Ranking System

    Select the way that ranking of beers should occur. This determines the ranking of beers by score, as well as leaderboards for the contest.

NOTE The start and end dates are for reporting purposes only. You can schedule and participate in tastings outside of the start and end dates.

Editing a Contest

  1. Click Manage from the top menu
  2. Click Contests and Scoring
  3. A list of contests will be displayed
  4. Click the three dot iconfor the contest that you would like to edit
  5. Click Edit Contest
  6. Adjust the fields as needed
  7. Click Save

Removing a Contest

  1. Click Manage from the top menu
  2. Click Contests and Scoring
  3. A list of contests will be displayed
  4. Click the three dot iconfor the contest that you would like to remove
  5. Click Remove Contest
  6. Click Yes, Remove to the confirmation

NOTE Removing a contest will also remove all tasting, rating, and reporting associated with that contest.
